Chief Operating Officer

One of the founders of Brighton Cromwell, Chief Operating Officer Glenn Van Etten has been both an innovator and captain of the company’s financial health as Brighton Cromwell weathered tremendous growth that stressed its logistical and technological systems. Glenn, who was the company’s Chief Financial Officer until becoming COO in 2011, is responsible for the operational and financial oversight of Brighton Cromwell and also leads the team of developers who created the company’s data-driven proprietary supply chain management system, SEDNA. Both roles are tantamount to building the company’s reputation as a reliable military supply chain partner capable of finding most any part and delivering it most anywhere in the world.

Glenn’s growth management planning was critical to Brighton Cromwell’s success and allowed it to remain privately held by Glenn and his brother, CEO Rob Van Etten, despite the need to raise substantial capital to quickly meet demand. Glenn was tasked with creating and implementing a logistics system focused on material arrival and inventory turns that delivered high levels of service while the company steadily grew 100% per year from 2003 to 2008. Between 2003 and 2012, Brighton Cromwell sustained an increase in growth of over 24,000%.

In 2011, Glenn took on a new challenge for Brighton Cromwell, deciding to build an internal software development team after becoming dissatisfied with the pace and quality of outside software development. He focused on simplicity for the user and the presentation of accurate, timely, and usable data, and used both his background in statistical analysis and finance to oversee the creation of algorithms that can analyze millions of points of data in seconds. As a result, Brighton Cromwell developed its state-of-the-art supply chain system, SEDNA, and patent-pending bid management and sourcing system, SEDNASearch™, with dynamic capabilities to monitor and analyze all aspects of the supply chain. SEDNA has the ability to integrate hundreds of ordering systems and catalog and track millions of authorized parts from more than 4,000 vendors. Brighton Cromwell now supplies eight of the top 25 Defense Contractors in the world with market analysis and demand data that they themselves aren’t able to get.

Brighton Cromwell was named by Deloitte as the fastest-growing technology company in New Jersey, Entrepreneur Magazine’s fastest growing defense company in the United States, and is listed on the Inc. 5000. Glenn was a finalist in both 2010 and 2012 as Ernst & Young New Jersey Entrepreneur of the Year®.

Glenn graduated from the University of Delaware with a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He is married with two children.
